Living Faith is currently served by Pastor Jim Strelan.

Pastor Jim's wife Ruth works as a counselor both in a large Prep to Year 12 School and in a Counselling practice in Kallangur.  Ruth is also developing a private practice.  Pastor Jim and Ruth have three Children; Shani, Daniel and Michael, all of whom no longer live at home.  They also have three Grandchildren. 

Pastor Jim began his ministry in Papua New Guinea, in the Madang area.  After some initial time out bush his ministry ended up being  mainly in the town of Madang where he was placed in charge of an English-speaking congregation and became Chaplain to the many schools in the area (seven in total).  He spent nine years in Papua New Guinea.  Pastor Jim and his family moved back to Australia and he continued on with his ministry, first with St Peters Lutheran College, Indooroopilly where he was Chaplain for 8 years.  In 1991 he and his family moved to Brisbane's western suburbs to Middle Park where Pastor Jim served as the Pastor to the church and the school for nearly fifteen years.  More recently Pastor Jim moved to Murrumba Downs and now services as the Pastor of Living Faith Lutheran Church and has done since April 2006. 

Pastor Jim believes that we are all in ministry together; using the gifts God has given us in service.  As pastor he believes it is his task to work toward a vision and then keep the fire of that vision burning; to bring God's Word to peoples lives in a way which will make a difference.  To work together with congregation members to be true to the defined mission. 

Pastor Jim's particular joy is in making initial contact with those seeking out God and explaining the Christian faith in the most basic way.  He considers the pastoral ministry to be a priviledge as he has regular opportunity to publicy preach and teach God's word and is allowed into peoples lives, which includes their joys and their struggles. 

Pastor Jim is a mad keen Brisbane Lions' supporter and member, as is his whole family.  He also is keen on cricket and golf.  He loves the sea and beach holidays with the odd bit of fishing.
